So, I am fully aware of the fact that it's been 6 weeks since my last update...which is a sin. In my defense, it turns out that being a mommy of 3 isn't a cake walk...and it also doesn't leave me with a whole lot of free time. Honestly, I'm lucky if I get both a shower AND lunch. So, unfortunately the blog is suffering.
But. I'm going to try to rectify this quickly:
Hayden:
Hayden turned 5 on June 3rd. We celebrated as a family by going to the pool, opening presents (his favorite: DS), and eating cake.
His 1st season playing t-ball is wrapping up. He had a great time as a Cardinal-and especially loved that his daddy helped coach. It was fun watching him improve throughout the season, and even Jack got a lot out of going to practices and games. His favorite part: hitting, running the bases, and the snack after the games.
On June 18th we celebrated his 5th birthday with friends and family. This year Hayden chose to have a superhero party-which included Spiderman, Ironman and Batman. We had a bounce house, an obstacle course, capes, lots of balloons and a piƱata! We really lucked out, and got to celebrate with lots of family this year: Grandpa, Nana, Papa, Brandyn, Liz, Kody, and the Rubels all made it down!!!! This was also the first year that Hayden got to choose his guest list which was fun! He mostly included preschool friends, and of course his BFF. It was a lot of fun-excessive heat and all!
Hayden is really getting to be a big boy. I've realized recently that our toddler years are over with him. He makes his own bed, cleans his room, unloads the dishwasher, helps me pick the house up, helps with his brother and sister, picks out his outfits and gets dressed...and is also earning an allowance. He's a smart little boy, very sweet, thoughtful and helpful. He's my little worrier...(which worries me...gee I wonder where he gets it!).
His interests right now are:
DS/Video games
Reading (we've read The Captain Underpants series and are now reading The Treehouse series)
Playing with friends
Cartoons: Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Max and Ruby, Superhero Squad
T-ball (mostly in the yard with Daddy and Jackson)
Jackson:
Jack is 2 years and 4 months old.
He has spent most of his time this summer just "tagging along"...but at the same time, he's full of opinions, ideas and suggestions. The boys and I are lucky to have such awesome friends, and they've been invited to lots of play dates, which Jackson loves!!!
Not only did Hayden have fun at his birthday party-but Jack loved it too-especially getting to spend time with family.
He has turned into a little fishy this summer. He loves going to the pool, playing in ours, and even loves the sprinkler.
Unfortunately Jackie is still using his lala's at bedtime/naptime-with no end in sight.
In June, I switched Jack to his big boy bed-so the boys are now officially sharing a room. It's going really well-the only negative: they're up earlier, so we had to make a rule-no getting out of bed until 7 am. It's working so far.
Next on the agenda for Jackson is potty training. Wish me luck.
Jackson's interests:
Basically whatever Hayden does, Jack does too. He likes to play cars, color, he LOVES to play outside, and he still likes to sit and look at books.
Reagan Estelle:
Reagan was born on May 18th and weighed 7 lbs 5 oz. (more on this later)
We were released from the hospital on May 22nd.
At her 1 week appt she still wasn't back over her birth weight-(she went down to 6.6 in the hospital, but...she made up for it by her next appointment, gaining 11 oz in 5 days. Just like her brothers, Reagan is a great eater!
On June 19th, we had Reagan baptized at St James Catholic Church. Grandpa, Nana, Papa, and Brandyn were there-along with her Godparents: her great aunt Liz and her uncle Chris. Jill, Bryce, Caden, Ella and Kody were there too. Just as everyone in our family has-since my Grandpa-79 years ago- Reagan wore my grandpa's baptismal gown. After church, everyone came back here for a lunch.
Lately Miss Reagan has been a handful: we're trying to figure out if it's colic, excessive gas or acid reflux. I hate seeing her so uncomfortable and cranky...and honestly, she and I are needing some good sleep. Hopefully this will pass soon.
At 5.5 weeks, we did take her to the zoo with her brothers. She did well, (until the last 30 minutes or so), and we all had a great time venturing out as The Morehead 5.
Jason and Dawn:
Jason and I have been busy adjusting to 3 vs 2. We were lucky, and Jason was able to take 3 full weeks off to stay home with us after Reagan was born. He was a HUGE help, and we had a great time getting to know our new family together. He eventually went back to flexible hours, and now we're almost back to normal work hours.
Jason has been keeping himself busy with helping out around here, playing with the kids and working.
I have been doing my best to get back to some normalcy. My c-section went pretty well, but my pain seemed to stick around longer this time. I'm 6 weeks our tomorrow and am finally starting to feel pretty decent. I spend my days taking care of the kids, nursing, rocking, patting, napping, and playing (as much as Princess Reagan allows).
Well, so much for a "quick" update. But that's all for now. Next up: pictures!
