A Long Goodbye

Today is Monday...always a tough day around here. Just when Hayden gets used to our weekend, Daddy-filled schedule, Monday rolls back around and Daddy is back to work. Hayden has been going thru yet another "Daddy is the best" phase, so these Mondays are even worse than usual. However, this morning was a different story.
After a long week of being sick, grumpy, clingy and sassy, Hayden woke-up happy, funny, sweet and lovey!!! YAY!!! We heard him in his room talking to his animals and singing, so Jay went in to get him and say good morning. I could hear them in there chatting away...talking about baby dragons, puppies...the usual. Eventually Hayden made his way in to say good morning to me...a very good sign!!! Jason was quick to follow to start getting ready for work...bringing with him Hayden's breakfast bar and cup of milk so that Hayden could snuggle with me and watch a toon while Daddy got ready for work.
After watching a wonderfully exciting episode of Franklin, Jason was ready for work and saying his goodbyes. Hayden was trying to drag it out as long as possible by not giving his daddy kisses...but eventually gave in and handed out a few. After the kisses, he started thanking Jason for different things that happened this weekend..."Thanks for getting quarters for the airplane Daddy" (we played at the mall yesterday), "Thanks for playing with me Daddy", "Thanks for changing my diaper Daddy"...etc. Then he followed all of that up with, "You drive to work in your car now Daddy-be careful, the road is bumpy!". "See you when you get home, but don't work too late!". If all of that didn't start Jason's day off on the right foot (even during close) I'm not sure what ever would!
