Lighting the Tree in Liberty

The town where we live had a tree lighting ceremony...soooo...even though it was frigid outside, we decided to bundle up and brave the cold to watch the festivities. I have to say, Jason and I were a bit underwhelmed, but we were able to meet up with our friends Leslie, Izzy and Mary (poor Ty and Jim were sitting in the car warming up), so Hayden had a great time playing with the girls. It was too darn cold for me to keep taking off my mittens to pull out the camera, so this is the only shot I got...King Tut sipping his hot chocolate!!

Showin' Off the Tat!!!

One night last week Hayden found a tattoo that he had gotten while trick-or-treating...so being the cool parents that we are, we "tatted up" our baby!! Afterwards he wanted to keep his arm out of his jammies to show it off...along with his "guns"...he kept saying, "Welcome to the gun show!!". This kid cracks me up!!!

27 Weeks...And Growing!!!

I've had a few requests for some "belly pictures", so here ya go! These were taken yesterday after my ob appointment where they measured me at 27 weeks and 4 days...we're just cruisin' right along!!! I will be scheduled for my c-section on February 19th...less than 12 weeks to go!!!

Buttered Popcorn=A Very Happy Pregnant Lady!!!

I'm not sure if this is actually blog-worthy, but I had to share anyway...
I have officially decided that I have the world's BEST HUSBAND (or at least he's in the upper 90% Jeannie!)!!! I have been CRAVING buttered popcorn, but we both absolutely HATE making it...however...at this exact moment he is out in the kitchen making me popcorn and pouring me a glass of orange juice...PLUS, it's Thursday, which means The Office, 30 Rock and Grey's!!! It doesn't get much better for an exhausted pregnant woman!!! Bring on the couch and the food!!!

Busy Mommy Date Day!

The New Haircut...Very Handsome!
Sound asleep after a FUN day!!!

Hayden and I had such a fun day today...one that we both needed after being cooped up for so long with all of this darn sickness! We started out by taking him to get his haircut...and of course, it looks adorable!!! He did a great job once again...even sitting thru having it blown dry. After being such a good boy, I decided to try out The Grove since we were already over at Zona Rosa...it's a little play area that they just finished redoing. It turned out that it was a scheduled Mom's Club event (I didn't realize this), so we even bumped in to a few people we knew...always a nice surprise. Hayden had a great time just getting to run around and burn some energy, and I had a great time just getting to sit and relax without having to come up with 5 million ways to entertain him!! After spending about 45 mintues there, we headed over to Toys R Us and got a little Christmas shopping done...always nice. We had a great time scoping out all of the cool toys...boy is his Christmas list a long one this year!!! On our way home, my little date was tuckered out, and fell sound asleep...what a little angel! Thanks Hayden, for the fun day with Mommy!! I love you bunches...

Our Little Zebra

I finally figured out (actually Daddy did) how to get a picture up of Hayden from Halloween (no camera remember)...so without further adieu....our adorable little zebra!!!

Just for Jeannie!!!!

Jason decided to clean out the fridge tonight to make room for all of the holiday goodies...SEE THE EMPTY SHELF JEANNIE!?!?! Aren't you proud????

Sickness...Again!

Well, our little turkey is officially sick once again...and this time, Mama joined him in the fun! Sunday night we were both up all night sick, sick, sick. Me with the flu, Hayden coughing like crazy! Luckily Jason was able to stay home yesterday to take care of his 2 sickies...and was even able to take Hayden in to see the doctor. She listened to his chest and said that she heard some congestion...so she diagnosed him with bronchitis. Ick. Of course this is being remedied with antibiotics...we're on #2 already...the first one gave him an alergic reaction. Lovely. I'm feeling BETTER...but still not 100%. Just hoping these drugs kick in quickly and that Hayden is back to normal sooner than later...and that this all avoids Jason!!!

Off for our naps...sleep is the best medicine, right?!?!?

Medicine Man

Hayden always does a great job taking his medicine...except tonight!! Poor baby had just finished eating a VERY ripe banana, and I guess the grape flavor wasn't the best choice to follow! He was a trooper though, and powered thru!!!

So Many Expressions...

Hayden's Silly Face
Hayden's Sleepy Face
Hayden's Happy Face
Another Silly Face
...and the ANGRY face...
Tonight I pulled the camera out, and Hayden informed me that he didn't want to smile for any pictures...so instead I asked him to make different "faces"...what a goofball!!!

Laid Back Weekend Update

Whew...it's Sunday night already...honestly, where has this weekend gone!?!? We had a good one, albeit very, very relaxed. The entire thing was spent consumed with playing, projects, catching up with stuff around the house, a bit of football, and more playing. We knew that the next few weekends were going to be busy ones with the holidays approaching, so we decided to just take it easy this weekend and enjoy being a 3-some.

Unfortunately, I didn't think to take many pictures...but here's a quick recap...Saturday morning Daddy and Hayden went out for donuts and a trip to Lowes while Mommy did the grocery shopping. We all had a good time...me with a little alone time, and the boys with a little bonding time. The rest of Saturday we cleaned, napped and played.

Sunday Hayden and Mommy let Daddy sleep in since he was up late watching the Iowa game (they won...go Hawks!!), and the two of us put together about 345 puzzles and worked on our letters for awhile. Then we all had a quiet breakfast while we read the paper...followed by...more cleaning (gotta love weekends like that!).

We all were lucky enough to get some naps in this afternoon, and for the icing on the cake...the 49ers won their 3rd game of the season! YAY!!! After an exciting game (actually it was a blowout...but we'll take it), DADDY made us all dinner, we had tubbie time, and then we all worked on some playdoh master pieces! I did manage to snag a few pictures of our playdoh fun...

Hayden is still feeling crummy...poor little guy's cough is nasty and that little nose just won't stop running. I've been trying to teach him how to "blow" all weekend, but he just sniffs instead. Unfortunately I think we're beyond the "it's just a cold" stage, so we'll be calling Dr. Morris in the morning. Keep your fingers crossed that it can be cured quickly...he's been sick for too darn long!

I'm still feeling pretty good, although I'm starting to become more and more cautious. Luckily Jason is being wonderful and chipping in so that I don't overdo things. The baby is CONSTANTLY kicking...already fighting for attention from his big brother I assume!!! I have to admit though, that I LOVE the feeling...it's the one (and ONLY) thing I will miss about being pregnant. It's an amazing thing to get to experience, and I am SO blessed to have been able to go thru it twice!
Anyway, Happy Sunday to everyone...I'm off to watch "my shows"!!!

Mastering the Zipper!

Is there anything cuter than kids in their snuggly warm pj's? It's my favorite thing about winter!! If only I could find a pair for me!!

Attack of the...SHIRT!!!

While getting undressed for pj time the other night, Hayden literally got stuck in his shirt. I honestly think he believes it came to life and was trying to eat him...he didn't know whether to laugh or cry...so of course, I grabbed my camera! Mommy to the rescue!

Tickle Monster!

Pretending to Take a Snooze!

One of Hayden's new favorite games is to crawl into his bed and pretend to be snoozing. It's hilarious because while he's fake snoring, he also keeps his eyes wide open and whispers that he's asleep and we should be quiet! What a little ham...but it gives Mommy and Daddy a good opportunity to climb in and snuggle!!

A Trip to the Police Station

As a fun (and very informative) outting, our Busy Bees Mommy Group got to take a tour of the police station this week. Most of the tour was over Hayden's head, but he really enjoyed getting to climb around and check out the police car. The officers were all very nice and patient with our little ones, and even surprised them with stuffed bunnies and baseball cards (which Hayden calls his, "tickets to the gun show"). For me, the best part of the trip was getting Hayden printed and getting some tips on how to keep our kids safe...you can never be too careful these days!

Project Time with Daddy

Hayden and I attempt to be creative now and then, and after a great suggestion from Aunt Jeannie, we pulled out some noodles and made some noodle art. Hayden couldn't wait until Daddy got home to show him his masterpiece...and boy was Daddy proud!

Doing Some Christmas Shopping

I'm not sure about everyone else's mailboxes, but for the past few weeks, ours has been STUFFED FULL of toy catalogs (how they find out where the kids live is amazing to me!). Soo...needless to say, Hayden has been having a blast picking out the toys that he'd like Santa to "make" for him. Every day after his nap he wakes up asking for his "magazine" and we sit for a bit and check out EVERY SINGLE PAGE. I guess he thinks he's been EXTRA good this year!!

It's Here!!!

Soooo...I went out to get the mail today, and guess what was waiting for me...MY CAMERA CHARGER!!! YAY!!! Stay tuned for some new pictures!!!

Watching the Baby Brother Show!

Just like when I was pregnant with Hayden, our regular OB wants us to be seen by a Perinatologist just to make sure everything is going smoothly and so that they're familiar with us on the off chance that something would go wrong.

Our first appointment was today, and honestly, it couldn't have gone any better!! The 3 of us loaded up on the van and headed in to Kansas City. We got to the office a bit early (yes, that's right...the Moreheads were EARLY!!), I filled out the paperwork, and they called us back...NO WAIT (boy was Jason impressed!!) It was a very painless appointment (my favorite kind)...the only thing they did was an ultrasound, and as always, it was amazing!!! Our little guy was sucking his thumb, moving his mouth, doing lots of kicks and flutters...he was very active, and it was so nice to get to WATCH instead of just FEEL!!! The doctor measured his head, legs and tummy and said that everything looks great-he's measuring right on schedule (which is a concern with my uterus), and that she has no reason to believe that I won't carry to term again. Whew. What a relief. Me being...well...me...had to ask...IF something would go wrong, how far along do I need to be before the baby would be okay if I delivered. She said that any time after 24 weeks they expect survival, and any time after 34 weeks they won't even attempt to stop labor. I am 25 weeks...so 9 weeks to go and we're in the clear (of course we're hoping to make it to 39)!!

While it was amazing to hear all of this good news, what made it all even better was watching Hayden's face when he got to see his baby brother for the very first time!!! He pointed and giggled, and it almost seemed as though he understood what he was seeing. The closer that we get to meeting our little guy, the more confident I become that Hayden is going to be an AWESOME big brother!!! I absolutely CAN'T WAIT to see my 2 little miracles together!!!

Baby Brother is Coming!!!

This morning (after our goodbye with Daddy and a few cartoons), Hayden and I were sitting at the table eating some french toast and having a chat. He started out by telling me, yet again, that he is going to be a big brother. I agreed, and asked him if he has picked out a name for the baby yet? His answer this morning was, "Bear". Hmm...

After the naming discussion (apparently both Jack (who is, "Brandyn's friend and is at school") and Kinnick are OUT), he started telling me that the baby is going to come out of Mommy's belly soon and then he would get to play with him. He also informed me that the baby is going to be "really cute" and, "Hayden will hold him and sing him songs".

I really can't explain how sweet all of this is to me...as nervous as I am about having 2 kids, and all that entails, I absolutely cannot wait to see my two boys together!!! I know Hayden is going to be an amazing big brother!!!

A Long Goodbye

Today is Monday...always a tough day around here. Just when Hayden gets used to our weekend, Daddy-filled schedule, Monday rolls back around and Daddy is back to work. Hayden has been going thru yet another "Daddy is the best" phase, so these Mondays are even worse than usual. However, this morning was a different story.
After a long week of being sick, grumpy, clingy and sassy, Hayden woke-up happy, funny, sweet and lovey!!! YAY!!! We heard him in his room talking to his animals and singing, so Jay went in to get him and say good morning. I could hear them in there chatting away...talking about baby dragons, puppies...the usual. Eventually Hayden made his way in to say good morning to me...a very good sign!!! Jason was quick to follow to start getting ready for work...bringing with him Hayden's breakfast bar and cup of milk so that Hayden could snuggle with me and watch a toon while Daddy got ready for work.
After watching a wonderfully exciting episode of Franklin, Jason was ready for work and saying his goodbyes. Hayden was trying to drag it out as long as possible by not giving his daddy kisses...but eventually gave in and handed out a few. After the kisses, he started thanking Jason for different things that happened this weekend..."Thanks for getting quarters for the airplane Daddy" (we played at the mall yesterday), "Thanks for playing with me Daddy", "Thanks for changing my diaper Daddy"...etc. Then he followed all of that up with, "You drive to work in your car now Daddy-be careful, the road is bumpy!". "See you when you get home, but don't work too late!". If all of that didn't start Jason's day off on the right foot (even during close) I'm not sure what ever would!

Hayden's 3rd Halloween!!!

To say Trick-or-Treating was a sucess would be an understatement!! For those of you who don't know Hayden very well...or who aren't caware of his "strong-willed personality"... let me just say that I was a bit nervous that we wouldn't even get him in his costume...let alone ring a doorbell or speak at the doors!!! Boy did I underestimate my kiddo!!! Not only did he put his ADORABLE zebra costume on, but he even let me paint his nose and loved every second of it!!! The night of trick-or-treating was a warm one, and his costume was also very warm...but he handled it like a champ!!! ...and can I just repeat...HE LOOKED ADORABLE!!! Unfortunately I have absolutely NO idea how to share any of the pictures that we took...with my battery charger still not here, we took a couple of shots with my phone and also with our old camera (which we also can't find the charger cord for...grrr...), but I will work on snagging some pictures and getting them posted ASAP!!!

Anyway, after we got him all suited up, we hit the streets of our subdivision. We started out around 6:00, and honestly, we were the only people out there for awhile. We had some light to start with though, and I'm glad we did it that way. We went next door for our first house, and Hayden walked right up, rang the bell, and very boldly stated, "trick-or-treat!!". Jason and I were SO proud!!! He continued to do this at all 30-something houses we hit!!! He always thanked the people and even told most of them, "Happy Halloweeeeeen". Very sweet!

I have to say that the only negative thing about our adventure, is the massive amount of candy he now has in his posession!! He is absolutely thrilled, and is constantly asking for a piece of it. The first night, we did allow him to have about 3 things...and he was an insane child...literally bouncing off the walls...since then however, we've limited it to 1 piece after dinner...and honestly, today, he didn't even have any. Whew. The logical mother in me just wants to dump it all and be done...but the "I've been a kid before and understand the importance of CANDY", just can't do it...yet.

So, anyway...Hayden's 3rd Halloween was a success!! He "got it" and we all had a great time!! ...just wish we had a few pictures to share...
